Palace ticket options

01

The straightforward choice

Entry ticket

Best for: Visitors who want to see the palace at their own pace.

  • Pick this if you already know the main rooms you want to see
  • Good starting point for comparing dates and times
  • Add an audio guide later if you change your mind

Check first: Confirm what is included, the entry time rules and the change policy on the live Tiqets page before paying.

02

For busy days

Fast track entry

Best for: Travellers visiting in peak months or with a tight schedule.

  • Designed to reduce time spent waiting at the ticket stage
  • Worth comparing against the standard entry ticket
  • Still plan for the security check on arrival

Check first: Fast track does not mean skipping security. Read exactly what the live product page promises.

03

For context and stories

Guided tour

Best for: First-time visitors who want the palace’s politics, art and history explained.

  • A guide turns a large building into a clear story
  • Useful for families with older children and curious teens
  • Check language, group size and duration

Check first: Meeting point, language and length vary. Confirm them on the product page.

04

Your pace, your commentary

Audio guide

Best for: Independent visitors who like background without a group.

  • Commentary while you walk the route in your order
  • Pairs well with our What to See page
  • Bring your own headphones if the listing allows it

Check first: Check how the audio is delivered and whether palace entry is included in the listing.

05

Beyond the main palace route

Secret Itineraries tour

Explore the palace’s less-seen spaces, including the Pozzi cells, Ducal Notary’s office, Secret Chancellery, Torture Room and rooftop Piombi prisons, with a guide explaining their role in Venetian history.

Best for: Visitors curious about hidden passages, government offices and the palace’s older prisons.

  • The listing describes a one-hour tour in English, with groups of up to 25
  • Skip-the-ticket-line palace entry and free time to explore after the guided tour
  • Includes access to the Bridge of Sighs, Armoury and prisons
  • Arrive 15 minutes early; meet at the Itinerari Segreti sign in the palace courtyard

Check first: Ages 6 and over. Not suitable for visitors with walking difficulties, claustrophobia, dizziness or cardio-respiratory conditions, or during pregnancy. Currently non-refundable and not reschedulable; confirm the latest restrictions and booking terms before booking. Security checks still apply.

Combo tickets

Combine the palace with St. Mark’s Basilica, or add a guided visit and gondola ride. These packages have different inclusions and schedules, so choose the one that fits your plans.

01

Two landmarks, your own pace

Doge’s Palace + St. Mark’s Basilica

Pair fast-track palace admission with hosted entry to St. Mark’s Basilica and a digital audio guide. Book the two experiences together and follow the individual visit instructions for each landmark.

Best for: Visitors who want to explore the palace and Basilica without a full guided tour.

  • Fast-track palace admission, with access to the Bridge of Sighs and Armoury
  • The palace ticket also lists the first floor of Museo Correr, the Archaeological Museum and Marciana National Library
  • Hosted Basilica entry to the cathedral ground floor, plus a digital audio guide
  • Choose your visit dates and follow the entry instructions for each ticket

Check first: Basilica access is cathedral ground floor only; the terrace, museum, Pala d’Oro and bell tower are not listed as inclusions. Check visit times, dress requirements and each ticket’s terms. The current listing does not allow rescheduling. Fast-track entry does not bypass security.

02

A guided Venice experience

Palace + Basilica + gondola ride

Explore the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica with a guide, take a shared 30-minute gondola ride and enjoy the Venice History 3D Gallery experience. The listing gives a total duration of about five hours.

Best for: Visitors looking for a guided introduction to Venice’s landmarks, waterways and history.

  • Guided palace and Basilica visits with skip-the-ticket-line admission; Basilica access is to the ground floor
  • A shared 30-minute gondola ride and the Venice History 3D Gallery
  • Companion museum entry: Museo Correr, the Archaeological Museum and Marciana’s monumental rooms
  • The listing also includes Basilica della Salute and Santa Maria Assunta in Torcello, which can be visited separately within six months of purchase
  • Guide languages listed: English, French or Italian, with groups of up to 15 and a headset to hear the guide

Check first: Use the tour meeting point at Calle de le Rasse 4536, rather than going straight to the palace entrance, and follow your confirmation’s arrival instructions. Cover shoulders and legs for the Basilica; large bags and luggage are not allowed inside either landmark. The listing currently allows cancellation and rescheduling until 24 hours before the visit; confirm the terms for your selected date.

How to decide

A short decision guide

  1. 1

Short on time or visiting in peak season?
Compare fast track against standard entry.

  2. 2

Want the stories behind the rooms?
Look at the guided tour, or add an audio guide.

  3. 3

Curious about hidden rooms and older prisons?
Choose the separately booked Secret Itineraries tour for spaces outside the standard route. Review the age, mobility and health restrictions first.

  4. 4

    Travelling with kids?
Audio can keep older children engaged; short tours suit curious teens. Secret Itineraries admits ages six and over and may not suit every child. See our family notes in the planning guide.

  5. 5

    Happy to wander?
Standard entry plus our What to See page is plenty.

Inclusions vary by ticket option. Check the Tiqets product page for the rooms, museums, guided experiences and extras included before booking.

The palace-and-Basilica combination pairs fast-track palace entry with hosted cathedral ground-floor entry and a digital audio guide; it is not a full guided tour of both landmarks. The guided combo adds guided visits, a shared 30-minute gondola ride and the Venice History 3D Gallery. Follow the individual tickets’ visit dates and instructions for the first package, or the operator’s meeting instructions for the guided experience. Basilica terrace, museum, Pala d’Oro and bell tower access are not listed in either package.

The Secret Itineraries route needs a specific guided-tour booking; standard admission does not include it. The tour listed here includes skip-the-ticket-line palace entry and free time to explore the main palace after the tour. Review the current inclusions, restrictions and meeting instructions before booking.
